Gulf Breeze United Methodist is excited to welcome the Rev. Dr. Erik A. Mays, his wife Lindsey, a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, and their three daughters. Born in Georgia,
Dr. Mays is a lifelong United Methodist whose previous appointment was the First United Methodist Church, of West Point, Georgia.

He possesses an extensive educational background and most recently completed his Doctorate of Ministry degree in Church Leadership through Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. Dr. Mays has served on over 20 short term mission trips; some in the U.S. and some in Mexico, Poland, Venezuela, Peru, and Guatemala.

Pam Avery taught music for twenty years as a first career, then following two bouts with cancer, moved to Pensacola, Florida to answer a call to ministry. She has been a licensed local pastor for nineteen years, currently serving as Senior Associate Pastor at Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church, where she focuses on Discipleship and Spiritual Formation. She is a certified Spiritual Director and Sacred Space Training Course leader. She is a Stephen Ministry Leader and is also certified in Enneagram. She has led numerous spiritual retreats as well as Enneagram training sessions around the Pensacola, Florida area and beyond. She has two sons, two daughters-in-love, and three precious grandchildren. Her joy is to help people find their own joy in a relationship with Jesus.

JOSH MCLAMB

Associate Pastor /
Congregational Care& Worship at the Water™

Josh McLamb, a native of Pensacola, is a Licensed Local Pastor in the United Methodist Church and is currently appointed to serve Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church, focusing on Worship at the Water™. After a season of studying and working in the agriculture industry, Josh found his way to Gulf Breeze UMC and into pastoral ministry. He is currently enrolled in the United Methodist Course of Study program through Emory University’s Candler School of Theology. Josh is married to Hannah, and they have one son and one on the way. In his free time, Josh enjoys growing a garden, tending to his chickens, and spending time with his family. His favorite part of ministry is journeying alongside people from all walks of life and all stages of faith as they seek to grow in the likeness of Christ.
