Well, we made it to the month of March and I don't care what the climatological scientists say, this has been the coldest winter I have experienced since moving to Florida some 17 years ago. When I moved down from Pennsylvania, I always said that the only ice I ever wanted to see again was in my glass. And here I've seen ice several days this year in good old sunny Florida. Go figure! Wow, the numbers and the energy at all our services on Sunday February 28th was phenomenal. Over 1100 in...

I want to thank Bo Parker and Britt Landrum for doing such a great job of leading worship the last two weeks. It'll be good to have Gina re-join me this coming Sunday. The Source has begun to have the same "feel" as our old Saturday evening services of years gone by and a lot of you are creatures of habit, sitting in the same chairs every Sunday. Some of you have utilized this blog to comment or ask questions and I appreciate the opportunity to respond to you. Invite others to attend with...

I want to thank all of you for the many comments of encouragement and appreciation that I have received. Apparently, "The Source" is meeting a need for people to go deeper, understand more, and draw closer to God. We certainly aren't rushing our way through the Bible. We've just completed our fifth week and we have really only talked about Genesis Chapters 1 and 2. This coming Sunday (February 14, 2010) we will delve into Chapter 3 and look closely at the temptation of Adam and Eve. What...

Well, its been three weeks since we started our new 8am Sunday morning service The Source" at Soundside. and its been an adventure. Scott and Shane's vision for this service is to get deeper into God's Word...sort of like the Bible Basics course we have facilitated for years, but with more depth. No need to rush...just linger and see what God has to say to us. So we are currently in the Book of Genesis and allowing God to do just that. Some of you indicated a desire to stay over after...

Well, I guess Jim Cantore will be in town to tell us all about wind velocities, storm surge projections, and possible beach erosion. He's the most avoided man in America. Poor guy - no one wants to see him and no one asks him to visit. It is surprising we are talking about hurricanes in November but I just looked at the latest projections and it looks like we will be visited by a tropical storm or tropical depression. We just finished our worship design meeting for this coming Sunday's...

I just returned from conducting the grave side services for Sue Gabel and once again I can feel the tug of emotions. Sue was such a beautiful lady with the sweetest spirit and a heart for serving. She was a regular at our home every Wednesday for two years as a member of our small group and always asked the greatest questions with great insight Every weekend you could find her helping with refreshments at the CLC and you could count on her being in the kitchen peeling potatoes every Tuesday...
